1 Support for Triplets at AFED December 30, 2015 AFED Office 1 Day AFED presented a Cheque to the mother of Triplets to support their upbringing which is already becoming a challenge to their parents. The Parents already had Four (4) Children before God blessed them with the Triplets and their father is not gainfully employed.

In a bid to rally support for the Triplets, the Parents are supposed to open an Account for the Triplets with the AFED Cheque. As soon as they open the Account, we shall announce it to you, so that you can also support them. We appreciate the Former Local Government Chairman, Hon. Rahmon Rotimi aka Arugbo who first supported them.
2 Send-Off Party for our German Intern December 30, 2015 AFED Office 1 Day We have a German National doing Internship in AFED. The 3 months Internship is from Oct 1 – Dec 31, 2015. His name is Michael Aluko, he was born in Nigeria, he left Nigeria 27 years ago. With the support of AFED Farmers Leadership Forum, we did the send-off party.

3 Right of Way (RoW) Gas and Environment Awareness Campaign December 29, 2015 Oju-ore and Ewupe Communities 1 Day Right of Way (RoW) Gas and Environment Awareness Campaign (GEAC) in Ewupe and Oju-ore Axis of Shell Nigeria Gas Right of Way.

It is an awareness campaign against harmful practices around Gas Pipelines. People burn bush around the Pipelines, people build houses and Shops on the Right of Way, People fry Akara and the likes on the RoW, and so on and so forth. As such, we are creating this awareness for a change of attitude on behalf of Shell Nigeria Gas Limited.
4 Leadership Training December 22, 2015 Olorunwa CDA, Oko Baale, Otta 1 Day AFED did Leadership Training for Olorunwa CDA in Ajumoni Area CDC in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government of Ogun State. We focused on the roles of Youth in Community Development. At the end of the Training, they were given a Three Months Practical Assignment on Community Development.
5 Empowering Citizens to Engage in Governance in Ado-Odo/Otta LG December 15 - 16, 2015 AFED Office 2 Days AFED has put together a team that will facilitate and Monitor the Process in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government with support from State Accountability and Voice Initiatives – SAVI funded by DFID is facilitating the workshop(TOT) for AFED in Otta.
6 Focus Group Discussion on Road Safety in Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government December 3, 2015 AFED Office 1 Day AFED organized a Focus Group Discussion on Road Safety in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government with focus on the Tollgate Axis, a border area between Ogun and Lagos States.

We had in attendance, the Representative of the Area Commander, the DPO - Sango Police Station, the heads of Road Safety – FRSC, TRACE, NSCDC in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government. Also in Attendance was Alhaji Waheed Kadiri (the Former Rector of Ogun State Polytechnic), Chief Mrs. Jakie Kassim, NURTW, NYCN, RTEAN and the MEDIA. The MBA was represented by Barr. Success O. Sodipo while Engr. Adediran Olukokun (A member of AFED Board of Directors and the Chairman/CEO of Kokun Integrated Services Limited) facilitated the FGD.

This FGD was organized in line with our project on “Empowering Citizens to Engage in Governance”. The FGD was also to set agenda for Citizens Partnership on Road Safety in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government.
7 Sustainable Development Goals - SDG Awareness and Campaign November 27, 2015 AFED Office 1 Day In line with the mandates of the Post United Nations General Assembly (Post UNGA) Forum and Discourse on the implementation of SDG on Education on Tuesday 24th November 2015 at LCCI Conference Center, Alausa-Ikeja, AFED carried out a step down on Friday 27th November 2015 in Otta, Ogun State.

We focused on SDG Goal 4 - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

SDG Goal 4 has 8 targets. SDG has 17 Goals with 169 Targets. SDG replaces MDG and it will run for 15 years. 2016 - 2030

12 Presentation of Certificates to Ota Area CDC Groups November 12, 2015 Olosun, Otta 1 Day At the November 2015 Edition of the Monthly meeting of Ota Area Community Development Council, we presented Certificates to New Farmers. We trained Retirees, Traders and Artisans from Ota Area CDC on Poultry Farming with focus on Egg Production. The Training is free and the Certificate is free as well.

14 Presentation of Certificates to AFAN Youths November 7, 2015 Ado-odo 1 Day We presented Certificates to Youths Who Participated in the AFED Free Agric Training for Youth Wing of AFAN (All Farmers Association of Nigeria), Ado-odo, in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government of Ogun State on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

The Certificates were presented by Mr. Johnson Olaniran, an EXCO of the AFAN, Ado-odo/Otta Local Government. We return all Glory to God Almighty.
15 Step-Down Training - Doing Development Differently – DDD 1 Nov 5 - 6, 2015 AFED Office 3 Days AFED was invited to the SAVI - DDD Dialogue held in Lagos from 20 - 21 2015, we are stepping down the lessons learnt and chatting a way forward towards Empowering Citizens to engage in Governance. We are working towards a kind of Appreciative Engagement which will compliment Government's effort in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government in Ogun State, Nigeria.
16 Free Agric Training for AFAN Youth Wing, Ado-Odo Nov 2 – 4, 2015 AFED Office 3 Days Poultry Training for Youth Wing of AFAN in Ado-odo of Ado-odo/Otta Local Government in Ogun State. AFAN is All Farmers Association of Nigeria.

INSPECTION OF FACILITIES
The Youth Wing of AFAN in Ado-odo have about 150 Acres with facilities at Wada-Topa Township in Kuluku, Ado-odo. They are willing to farm and they have the land but they need funding. They are doing the little they can but they need a push.

18 Doing Development Differently - DDD October 20 - 21, 2015 Ikeja, Lagos 2 Days A two-day dialogue designed to reflect on the Citizen-driven approach to Development - Doing Development Differently - DDD organized by The State Accountability and Voice Initiative - SAVI, a program funded by DFID for Non State Actors - NSAs in the South West. I represented Ogun State at the dialogue held at the R & A City Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

My mission at the dialogue is to evaluate SAVI's DDD approach to Development, juxtapose with AFED's approach and chat a way forward for AFED and by extension impact on Development in Ogun State using Ado-Otta Local Government as a Pilot phase.

21 2015 World Peace Day Celebrations September 23, 2015 Abeokuta 1 Day SPADEV/WANEP World Peace Day Celebrations held at Lisabi Model Primary School, Itori, Abeokuta today September 23, 2015.

WANEP is West African Network for Peacebuilding. It comprises of NGOs working on Peace and Security within the West African Sub-region.

I was at the event in my capacity as the State Coordinator, WANEP-Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter.

Our theme: "Sustainable Peace is my Right and Duty".
22 Free Agric Training for Widows September 15 – 18 AFED Office 4 Days CORONATION
The Women group voted on day 1 and elected a Queen as the leader of their group. In a bid to add fun to the training, our special guest performed The Coronation where she crowned the queen and also handed the staff of office to the queen. Indeed, it was fun. 08176735797. EXCURSION
We visited an existing farm with our trainees for practical. The interesting thing about the excursion is that we visited the farm of one of our trainees. She has 700 birds now. We gave her 10 units of Day Old Chicks. 08176735797. Thank you

PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATES
Our Special Guest also presented Certificates to our Trainees. The Certificates were free. We did not collect any money for the certificates. We regret that we could not give them Handouts as usual because of logistics but we hope to invite them to pick it up as soon as we get support to produce the Handouts
23 PRE UNGA One-Day Interactive Forum September 10, 2015 Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa – Lagos. 1 Day African Foundation for Environment and Development - AFED participated in the One-Day Interactive Forum and Discourse on Draft SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL on Education Pre-UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY by Save the Children on 10 September 2015 at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa – Lagos.

The Interactive Forum with the objective of understanding, analyzing and discussing how to achieve the targets and goals set for the next 15 years in the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), particularly on Education, which is the GOAL 4 of the 17 SDGs. This is against the background of the fact that the new set of Development Goals that will be launched during the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015

Participants included stakeholders from the Education Sector, Civil Society Organizations and the media. Abimbola Jide Aremo (save the Children), Dr. Tola Winjobi (CAFSO-WRAG), Ms. Adeola Awogbemi (Volunteer Corps), Dr Chudie Ihenacho(CSACEFA) and Barrister Titi Akosa (C21st) were Resource persons at the forum.

We like to inform you that the people he gave the Day Old Chicks to are already selling eggs. If only we can have more people who can do this, more people who needs to be empowered will really benefit. One day, they will say thank you.

27 WANEP STATE ASSESSMENT August 27, 2015 NYNETHA OFFICE, ABEOKUTA 1 DAY Focus Group Discussion - FGD to Assess WANEP Projects in Ogun State. Six WANEP Member organizations were invited to Abeokuta on Thursday, August 27, 2015.

WANEP is West Africa Network for Peace-building, a network of NGOs working on Peace and Security in West Africa. .
28 FREE AGRIC TRAINING AWARENESS AND CAMPAIGN August 22, 2015 GDM Bible Church, Ilogbo Road, Otta 1 Day AFED at GDM Bible Church addressing Widows on the AFED FREE POULTRY AGRIC TRAINING PROGRAM. The Church is running an empowerment program for widows, they contacted AFED and we are ready to assist as much as we can.

Right now, different groups have approached us for this Free Agric Training. The number is increasing by the day. We are willing to help but we also need support to pull through. We shall do our best.

We are starting the new batch soon. This time, we are training members of Ota Area Community Development Committee. They have about 65 CDAs. May God help us. Amen
29 WANEP ZONAL ASSESSMENT August 21, 2015 Ibadan, Oyo State 1 DAY West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP)- Nigeria Zonal meeting for Assessment of Interventions of Peacebuilding Networks in Nigeria (1999-2014). The project is coordinated by WANEP Nigeria through implementing consultants and Centre for 21st Century Issues (C21st).

The meeting was held on Friday, Aug 21 2015 in Ibadan, Oyo State. 3 States were in attendance – Ogun, Oyo and Lagos. The States absent were Osun, Ondo and Ekiti. I represented Ogun State as the State Co – ordinator, WANEP – Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter.

Others present were the South West consultant, South West WANEP Co-ordinator, Oyo SEMA rep and Research assistants.
30 Meeting with Youth Wing of All Farmers Association of Nigeria – AFAN August 20, 2015 AFED OFFICE, OTTA 1 DAY Meeting with Youth Wing of All Farmers Association of Nigeria – AFAN

AFED met with the Leadership of the Youth Wing of All Farmers Association of Nigeria – AFAN from Ado-odo/Otta Local Government and Yewa South Local Government in Company of the AFAN Ado-odo/Otta Local Government Secretary. Their membership strength is Two Hundred and Fifty (250) in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government alone.

This Youth Groups are into Cropping, Fishery, Piggery and Poultry. They have more than 50 Hectares of land for farming. We highlighted the challenges facing each area of Agriculture as listed above. At the end of the day we summarized the challenges to be: (1) Technical Knowhow/Capacity (2) Capital and (3) Marketing.

AFED will provide the Technical Knowhow/Capacity in terms of Training and source for Market while we call for your assistance in the area of Capital for these Youths. They are on ground, they are ready, they are restless and they have energy. You can determine what they do with their energy whether positive or negative depending on your actions or in-actions.

31 Experience Sharing at the Post Election Stakeholders Zonal Forum August 11, 2015 Ado-Ekiti 1 DAY Experience Sharing at the Post Election Stakeholders Zonal Forum held in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, August 11, 2015 organized by IFES - International Federation for Electoral Systems in conjunction with INEC sponsored by the EU - European Union. Each State of the South West was represented by 10 Civil Society Leaders

I shared the AFED Political Debate experience. I spoke on the need to engage our elected officers positively and the need for the constituents to wake up to their Civic responsibilities and obligations.
32 MONITORING & EVALUATION July 4 - 24, 2015 Ado-odo/Otta Local Government 21 DAY We trained 160 Retirees, Traders and Artisan in Otta (Ado-odo/Otta Local Government) Free of Charge on how to raise birds from Day Old to grow-out. 33 MEETING WITH TRAINEES, MINISTRY OF COOPERATIVES AND MICRO FINANCE July 2, 2015 PETHMETS HALL, OTTA 1 DAY In line with our Training objectives in Agric, we have trained 160 people free of Charge. These people includes Retirees, Traders, Artisans and Youths. AFED has gone ahead to source for market and opportunities for our Trainees.

For strategic positioning and to access the available opportunities, we have divided our trainees into groups to form Cooperative Societies. As such, we invited the Representative of the Ministry of Cooperatives in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government to enlighten them on the process and procedures.

We also invited a Micro Finance Bank who is ready to work with us to enlighten us on the available loans for Farmers.
34 MONITORING AND EVALUATION – M&E June 29, 2015 SANGO 1 DAY We trained these people free of charge. We later got support from Engr. AdeAdediran Olukokun to give them a start. He gave them A pack of Day Old Chicks each and Ten Thousand Naira Each. Hon Aina Nurudeen Akinpelualso supported us to give ten pieces of Day Old Chicks to some of our Trainees to practice
35 GROUP LEADERS MEETING 25-Jun-15 AFED OFFICE, OTTA 1 DAY We have Trained 160 Retirees, Traders and Artisans divided into eight groups in Ajumoni Area Community Development Committee. Each group has a Kabiesi and Olori as leaders of their various groups. We take decisions at the level of theses group leaders.

At the meeting held on Thursday, June 25, 2015, we discussed the issue of the available development opportunity and how to access it. We shall make it public as soon as possible.
36 MONITORING AND EVALUATION – M&E June 25, 2015 ILOGBO ROAD, OTTA 1 DAY At AFED, we have trained One Hundred and Sixty People (Retirees, Traders and Artisans) free of Charge. Prince Bayo Odususi, the Secretary, Ado-odo/Otta Local Government Zonal Community Development Committee coroneted our two new Obas. 50 AFED FACILITATES THE PAYMENT OF TRIPLET’S HOSPITAL BILLS IN OTTA 7-Mar-15 Sure Mercy Hospital, Otta 1 DAY African Foundation for Environment and Development – AFED brought the Ado-odo/Otta Local Government Chairman, Hon Rotimi Rahmon to assist in offsetting hospital bills of Triplets delivered through surgical operations in Otta yesterday March 7, 2015.

Mrs. Olagoke gave birth to Triplets on Feb 20, 2015 through surgical operation. It was a pregnancy she had tried to abort because she already had four children. The Husband, Mr. Olagoke a Carpenter could not afford the hospital bills until AFED was informed. The Triplets Solomon, Samson and Samuel were christened in the hospital because there were detained.

Rescue came their way when AFED got informed on the eleventh day that the triplets are still in the hospital, AFED informed the Local Government Chairman and made frantic efforts to bring him to visit the triplets on Saturday, March 7, 2015. To mark the International Women’s day, the Local Government Chairman, Hon. Rotimi Rahmon a.k.a. Arugbo paid off all the outstanding bills and also promised gifts and other food items.

On behalf of the Olagoke Family, the triplets and AFED, we say a very big THANK YOU to Hon Rotimi Rahmon for his generosity.

Meanwhile, Mr. Olagoke needs a job to feed his family

This EMPOWERMENT was made possible through the support of Engr. Ade Olukokun of Kokun Intergrated Services based in Ota.

2-Feb-15 AFED OFFICE, OTTA 1 DAY Stakeholders meeting of the Ado-odo/Otta Local Government Political Debate was held today Feb 2, 2015 at African Foundation for Environment and Development –AFED’s Office in Ota to review the past Political Debate and take decision on the Debate of the House of Assembly Candidates of Ado-odo/Otta 1 & 2 State Constituencies.

Trade Associations, Artisans and Groups also submitted List of three (3) members of their association for empowerment as requested by Barr Biyi Otegbeye, the SDP Candidate for Senate.

We had Thirty-nine (39) Leaders of Trade Associations, Artisans and Groups from Ado-odo/Otta Local Government in attendance.

The Stakeholders unanimously decided to fix the House of Assembly Debate for February 5, 2015. Audience will be sitted by 9am while the debate starts by 10am on the dot at Nigeria Motor Mechanic Hall at Iyana Iyesi. Our Audience are Five (5) Representatives each from Trade Associations, Artisans and Groups from Ado-odo/Otta Local Government.

60 Refresher Course for Retirees 21-Jan-15 AFED OFFICE, OTTA 1 DAY Recall that we gave out Day Old Pullets to beneficiaries of our Free Agric Training on 20th of December, 2014 free of charge and we subsequently carried out Monitoring and Evaluation on Jan 10, 2015 where we decided to do a refresher course in order to correct a few things for optimum production.

The debate is organized by African Foundation for Environment and Development – AFED www.afedev.org in conjunction with Trade Associations and Groups in Ado-odo/Otta Local Government for Senate, House of Representatives and the House of Assembly aspirants seeking the votes of Ado-odo/Otta Local Government electorates.

The 2nd Stakeholder’s meeting was held yesterday Jan 19, 2015. The meeting was attended by leaders of Twenty-four (24) Trade Associations/Groups in preparation for the Political Debate.

65 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Exercise January 11, 2015 OTTA 1 DAY African Foundation for Environment and Development – AFED went on inspection of beneficiaries' of our Free Agric Training yesterday Jan 11, 2015. We gave out free Day Old Chicks with support of Hon. Aina Akinpelu and they were 3 weeks old yesterday, Jan 10, 2015. We are happy to report that our people are making progress.
